The Philadelphia Freeze Women’s Hockey club has been in existence for over 25 years and has grown from one team playing at the University of Pennsylvania Class of 1923 rink in center city Philadelphia to 4 teams. The mission of the Freeze is to offer a fun and valuable ice hockey experience to women. The organization is player run, all coaches are volunteers and players from each of the teams serve on the governing board.
The Philadelphia Freeze Women’s Ice Hockey Club play and practice during a “traditional” schedule from September to March give or take a few weeks. Currently all of the teams are in the United Women’s Hockey League at 4 different skill levels from very experienced to novice/developmental.
